Being a Godly Girl in Today's World

“O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether.”
Psalm 139:1-4

Did you know that the Lord knows you better than you even know yourself? There is nothing about you that is hidden from Him. Even when you don’t understand what you’re thinking, He does. He knows it all.

Not only that, He’s always known it all. Even before you had an inkling about Him, He knew every facet of your personality. He knew all about your family and your future. Nothing in your life takes Him by surprise. Ever.

That also means that God has always known about your sin. That’s right – every sin you’d ever commit, God knew about it ahead of time. Think about that. God knows every sin you have ever done and will ever do. And yet, He loves you. That should blow your mind just a little.

God knew that you would sin even after you accepted Christ as your Savior. But He didn’t reject you. He still extended His grace to you. He welcomed you into His family, knowing everything about you–even the not so good things. That is truly an amazing kind of love. Paul refers to it as a love that “surpasses knowledge” in Ephesians 3. In fact, Paul prayed that the Ephesians would have the strength to understand the depth of the love that has been lavished on us. I pray the same for you – that you would truly think about and be able to recognize the depth of the love that God has for you. Nothing, not even your screw-ups, will stop Him loving you.
