fallow ground

“Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.”
(Hosea 10:12 ESV)

Fallow ground is ground that has been plowed. It is prepared for use. But no one plants seeds in it. No one cultivates it or tends to it. So nothing grows. For a whole season or more, the ground is barren. Empty. Prepared, but never producing.

What is the fallow ground in your life right now? Where has God been preparing you for growth and you have been resisting? Now is the time to surrender it to Him. Now is the time to seek the Lord.
